The Windows Server 2008 伺服器作業系統能處理各種不同的伺服器角色─例如列印伺服器、領域控制管理、Web伺服器與檔案伺服器─也是不同的單獨伺服器作業之整合平台，例如Exchange Server 或SQL Server。
企業版支援高度動態的、可擴充的IT內部結構，最高可將四個客端虛擬機器整合成單一伺服器角色。只須要一個虛擬作業系統的中小型組織請考慮使用標準版。
The R2 version updates the Hyper-V virtualization environment, improves power management, enables remote connectivity without a VPN, and adds features designed specifically to work with client computers running Windows 7.
Important: The R2 version requires a 64-bit system. Organizations that want to run Windows Server 2008 on a 32-bit system can receive a donation of this product and then obtain the older SP2 version from Microsoft, either by downloading or by purchasing the DVD-ROM.
Client Licenses: 使用者須有伺服器license。每個存取Server 的使用者或裝置都需要一個 CAL(Uer CAL 或 Device CAL)除了匿名的網路使用者之外，例如瀏覽組織公開網站者。或者，外部網路使用者眾多的組織可以使用Windows Server external connector license。此外，若伺服器執行Windows Terminal Services，每一位使用者或裝置使用服務時都須要單獨的Remote Desktop Services User CAL 或 Device CAL。
安裝此軟體須有license key與安裝媒體兩者並用。待貴單位訂單確認後14天內，我們會將如何取得你的 license key 的方式，寄到貴單位在此所登記的 email信箱。安裝媒體則會寄到貴單位登記的地址。
